Today Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-California, introduced a bill that would ban some military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.
Sen. Feinstein describes the 1978 shooting deaths of her colleagues that push her determination.
"I was the one that found supervisor Milk's body, and I was the one that put a finger in a bullet hole trying to get a pulse. Once you have been through one of these episodes, once you see what a crime scene is like, it isn't like the movies; it changes your view of weapons."
CNN's Dana Bash reports.
